Buena Vista Interactive

Buena Vista Games is the video game publishing division of The Walt Disney Company, originally founded in 1996 as Disney Interactive. BVG publishes and licenses games based on both Disney properties and original intellectual property for core gamers and children.

In 2005, Buena Vista Games acquired two external game development studios, Propaganda Games and Avalanche Software. Propaganda Games was set up with four video game veterans, with Turok (2007), an Unreal 3 Engine-powered shooter released as its first game. Avalanche Software is the developer of the hit franchise Tak, and is working on two games - Disney's Chicken Little: Ace in Action (based on the super hero movie within a movie at the end of the Chicken Little film) and Disney's Meet The Robinsons, based on the upcoming CG animation film.

In 2006, Buena acquired a third development studio in England: Climax Racing, who is best known for its work on the ATV Offroad Fury and MotoGP franchises.

Buena Vista Games has also announced the formation of a new development studio Fall Line Studio dedicated to creating games exclusively for Nintendo consoles Wii and Nintendo DS. Fall Line Studio will operate as a sister studio to Avalanche Software, both companies being based out of Salt Lake City. The studio will focus on small-team projects using Disney's brand. Former general manager of Rainbow Studios Scott Novis has been chosen to serve as vice president and general manager of Fall Line Studio.
